I'm looking for a pretty soft blue color towel for my bathroom. It seems like this hydrangea is a little deep/dark - but it could be the photo isn't accurate color. Anybody have these towels who can tell me how close to the picture they actually are?

It is a teal color, aqua is more vibrant and a different shade. It would not really complement the bluegrass.

Color of Golden Delicious Towels?

The Golden Delicious color seems to look completely different in the detail photo and the stacked towels photo. In the stacked towels photo, I see it above the Lime towel and it looks bright and buttery, more of a pure shade. In the detail photo it looks like it's a much darker and more brownish or muddied, "fall" type of shade. Which photo is more accurate?
Asked by: lanterngirl
The Golden Delicious is more of a butter yellow color.

Is it true that you should not use a fabric softener, such as Bounce on these towels? I do not want to ruin them.

I just purchased a set of the signature towels and want to keep them in good condition. I want to know if I should dry them without dryer sheets.
Asked by: TamaraS
For maximum absorbency, we recommend not using fabric softeners. They will not damage the towels, though. Please avoid contact with products containing Benzoyl Peroxide which will ruin the dyes.

Are either the Blue Hydrangea or the Cornflower Blue in the color range of periwinkle?

I'm looking for a saturated color towel - not a pastel. Is the Hydrangea a bold color, or is it basically a pastel blue?
Asked by: LakeHarrietgirl
Neither the blue hydrangea or the cornflower blue are periwinkle. The hydrangea is a softer blue, with a slate tone.

Are these towels the same as the Garnet Hill Supreme towels?

Asked by: RunningD
The Garnet Hill Supreme towels have been discontinued. While they are not the same as the Garnet Hill Signature towels, there are similarities. They are both 100% Egyptian Cotton. The Signature towels are very absorbent and we have test results that show they have an excellent absorbency rating. The finish we refer to is a special treatment with an extra tumbling process for added absorbency. One difference between the two: Garnet Hill Supreme are 800 grams and Garnet Hill Signature are 600 grams.

I want to buy these towels, but need to know if they have a lot ot twist in the loops. Need absorbency, not a "soft" towel.

Have purchased towels that shed so much fiber in the dryer and they are too soft and slick - not absorbent. I think in the late 80's there were these "zero twist" towels that were very soft. I like a real old fashioned towel - like the ones we made in the USA. (My towels are really old and I need new towels!) What does "specially finished" in your description above mean? Please clarify what you mean by this statement.
Asked by: Lucianne
These towels are very absorbent and have an excellent absorbency rating. The finish we refer to as a special treatment is an extra tumbling process for added absorbency. The towel uses single yarns instead of plied yarns. We find them to absorb even better after a few washes.

Which shade combination(s) of a light blue and a dark blue work best together?

I would like to get one towel in a light shade of blue (possibly Aqua?), and one in a dark shade of blue, but want to make sure the darker blue is not too green compared with the Aqua (unless the Aqua colour also pulls green to some extent)?
Asked by: basilmitz
We feel the colors all coordinate nicely. Did you know that you can order swatches of towels for comparison? You can order them through the Contact Us link on on our website or by calling customer service.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lovely, Hearty Towels This is the second time I have ordered a set of matching towels (including a bathmat) from Garnet Hill. The last set lasted for many years of daily use. From all appearances, this set also will be a staple in our linen closet for years to come. I love the range of colors, and the medium thickness of this set.
