What type of mattress is best with this bed? Does it need a mattress & box springs?
We recommend an 8" deep mattress and a 7" deep box spring as anything deeper will hide the bottom portion of the headboard. Both a mattress and box spring are required for this bedframe.

High quality and very satisfied
I am extremely satisfied with the Farmhouse Spool Bedframe. This piece was sourced from a US east coast company that specializes in high quality furniture. It’s truly an heirloom piece with solid wood and beautiful, thoughtful finishes. The craftsmanship is stunning. The estimated wait time was spot on (ordered in November with an eta of mid-May). I highly recommend.

Beautiful Bed!
This is a beautifully made bed. True craftsmanship! It wasn’t hard to set up. It took 2 people. We chose the blond maple color. Very pretty. One note, the description should say that you cannot use a regular box mattress frame under your mattress because it makes the bed to be way too high. You need a “Bunky Board”, which is flat support. Highly recommend this bed!

Beautifully Made!
This bed arrived two weeks ago and I was very impressed with the way it was shipped, well protected in multiple boxes. It arrived without a nick or a scratch and is extremely well made. Beautiful wood and craftsmanship. Don’t hesitate if you are thinking about a purchase! I’m very pleased. Would buy more pieces if they were available!

Beautiful heirloom bed
When I saw this bed on the site, I initially loved that it had a heirloom look but with clean lines and was made in the USA of American hardwood. In real life, the bed is even more beautiful than the pictures on the site are able to portray. It was easy to assemble and is solid and clearly expertly crafted. It may cost more than a mass-produced bed made in Asia, but in this case you really do get what you pay for. This is a bed to keep forever.
