What does the 550 fill power mean in terms of how warm the blanket is. I bought one. It is extremely heavy so I am assuming it is very warm. I have not used it yet. Wanting to get some information if I can. I live in Texas and it may be too warm.
Pending Moderation
Fill Power is the volume one ounce of down will fill when measured in cubic inches. Down with a higher fill power provides better warmth because it takes up more space, causing more air to be trapped, and in turn, retaining your body's natural warmth. The higher the fill power, the more insulating the down. We find this to be a great year round blanket.

so many 5 star reviews. where are the suggestions telling how to keep it from sliding off the bed?
great appearance. the feel is total luxury and baby soft. warm! no need for second cover.
however, first wash, lost about 3" in width and did follow wash instructions. lucky to have an 8+cu' dryer to fluff and dry low.
the slipping is a huge issue. first, i used it w reg sheets. next, tried w a flannel. no luck. now, i removed my top sheet and use a flannel bottom. anything, to help it "stick" to the bed. NO LUCK! wake often, just to pull it back on.........and now it's smaller!
shall i sew weights on the sides? hate to give it up, but guess that i'll have to use on a smaller bed........
think that it might work better for a throw......at least, most of the time one is awake and able to keep covered.
We do cut this item to allow for the shrinkage. Perhaps try turning it over so the sateen side is down to see if that helps with the sliding.

Wondering about the shade of blue...looks more of a green on my computer screen. could you please describe? thank you
i called before purchasing. was told that it was closer to blue. it's not! it is truly a soft teal. a very nice color and quiet enough, that it should blend a bit both ways. but, yes, it does have green in it.

Does the fluffy side get static-y? It looks so soft but concerned that it'll produce static electricity in our dry California winters.
If it is very dry in your home, you may have some static electricity.

Would this make a good comforter for a child's bed?
I'm considering the Garnet Hill Essentials Blanket or Comforter for our children's beds, but after seeing this, maybe this is a cozier option. They are HOT sleepers so something heavy wouldn't work. And the down blankets they currently use make them sweaty. We don't use flat sheets, just a blanket and fitted sheet. Any thoughts?
The warmth would be approximately the same to slightly warmer than the Essential Down Blanket. Either would be a good option for your situation.

Is the ivory a pale yellow and is the linen a peachy brown? Hard to tell from the photos vs. names.
The ivory is a creamy color, we would not say it is pale yellow. The linen is a khaki with no peachy undertones.

Do you need a front-loading washer for the throw size of this blanket?
I have an average-sized top-loading washer and am looking for a very warm but easily washable throw.
You do not need a front loading washer to care for the blanket. However, we do recommend a front loader to keep the blanket looking like new.

Can also get two sham same material with blanket?
Others blankets sold by Garnet Hill say: "This product is tested for harmful substances and meets Standard 100 by OEKO-TEX®." Why isn't this blanket OEKO-TEX certified?
I have purchased 3 grey blankets in the past and love them so much. We just got a larger bed so ordered a new one in the steel grey/blue. It sheds so much I have to return it. What color are the ones people are rating 1 and 2 stars for shedding?
I purchased one last year and absolutely LOVE <3 <3 <3 it! Is it manufactured to the same materials and specifications this season? Thank you.

The Magic Blanket
In our family, this blanket is called the “magic blanket”. When our four year old grandson would come to visit, he loved to wrap himself in our plush- loft blanket and cozy up to me while I read to him. This blanket will always be our family favorite!

This is by far my end all be all blanket 8 months out of the year! Dog hair doesn’t stick and as soon as I opened my box 📦 my puppies claimed it. I already ordered a second one so I have a back up. Great quality and super soft just very impressed. My online purchases are never this impressive!
