Regarding the use of an adjustable base bed....are the bed slats that support a boxspring permanently attached or can the support slats be removed? It seems that if they come unassembled you could just leave them off and place your adjustable base inside?

I'm so confused!  What is the difference between the Canopy and Headboard and just regular size version of this bed? The photos appear to be full canopy style, but I'm not sure. What is included in just "King" and what about "Headboard" vs. "Canopy?"

Asked by: DEDEBE
Our LaSalle Iron Bed is sold 3 different ways: Headboard Only Bed Only Bed with Canopy all 3 options come in Full/Double, Queen, King or California King.

I am interested in the Queen, headboard only. I am assuming that the tall metal pieces on the left and right in the picture do NOT come with the headboard only option. Please confirm.

Asked by: GbSCG
Please see the picture of the bed without the canopy, showing the headboard and footboard, that is the headboard you would receive if you were to order headboard only.

The bed comes with a free standing frame. The headboard and footboards attach to the frame. A box spring is required. It will not accommodate an adjustable mattress frame.

What is the drop for the bed skirt on the king size bed? Does this bed work with a box spring and mattress ?

Asked by: Becky59
If you want the bed set up exactly as pictured, where the box spring and mattress meet right at the lower bar on the footboard where you'd want to tuck in your bedding (because yeah - that does look good), then you will need a lower profile box spring. Ideally 5.5 inches, but 5 inches or 5 3/4 inches would also work. 6 inches and you will be able to JUST see the top of the box spring above that lower bar. With a 5.5 inch box spring, you would then want a mattress that is at least 12 inches thick. With 12 inches, you'll have a bit of a gap between the top of the mattress and the bottom of the headboard, which would look fine (just like the picture - look at the headboard and where the mattress comes up to). Thicker mattresses tend to be more expensive so the other way to do it is to get an 11 or 12 inch mattress and add a 2-inch (or so) mattress topper - and then be sure to get extra-deep sheets that will go over both the topper and the mattress. It's a beautiful, sturdy bed, and the gunmetal finish is a dark mottled gray with a subtle shimmery quality to it. The fabric on the headboard looks AWESOME in person - photos don't capture that! And even if you opt for a standard box spring, you can still make the bed so that the bed cover (duvet or coverlet or comforter) hangs down at the footboard just to the top of that lower bar - like the photos show of the bed in the white finish - you just won't be able to tuck it under and have it look as nice as the photos of the bed in the dark finish.

King bed description of frame support?

Can you please describe the support for the box springs/mattress on the frame for the King bed? Are there center support slats and center support legs? How many of each and how are they spaced? What are the slats and center support legs made of? Thank you!
Asked by: CaterpillarRoll
The center support is a bar that will stabilize the frame. Only the queen, king and California king sizes will need this support. The bed frame is 100% iron.

I have a tempurpedic dual cal king, ( 2 XL twins ) will this frame attach to their universal frame?

Asked by: annelm
Yes, the bed should work with any frame that has standard screw and bolt assembly as placement of the screw holes should be universal.
Answered by: JennyGHCS

How are the different parts of the bed connected? Can you see the screws/bolts on the outer sides of the bed? Thank you!

Asked by: KMBH
The screws where the canopy bars connect are visible, but they are painted to match the bed, so they do not stand out. The headboard & footboard connect to the frame via screws & bolts, but those are not really visible once the box spring & mattress are on, plus if a dust ruffle or bed skirt is added then they would not be seen at all.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well made bed I bought this bed because I recently purchased a new mattress and wanted a nice headboard to go with it. The bed arrived in good shape and putting it together was simple, although easier with two people.n(Note, I did not get the canopy part.) The only issue was that it only has a regular bed frame. My new mattress doesn't need box springs and I had been expecting to put it directly on the frame of the new bed. Since it isn't a platform bed frame, this was impossible. I ended up going to the local mattress store and buying a flexible base that provided a solid base as well as raising the height of the mattress to fit the headboard. It works well now, and looks great in my room. It is a very well made bed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful classic bed. Purchased for a client as the frame for bed drapes, this bed is also beautiful as is. The panel also detaches so applying your own fabric is very easy if you're handy (some care going around the curves). The finials have a handmade look, hence the negative comment, but I didn't find them objectionable, especially since comparable beds are a lot more expensive. We had a small problem with one boxspring rail slightly bent during transit, but the manufacturer sent a new one out quickly and it didn't interfere with the bed assembly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great style, comfortable & sturdy The Lasalle Iron Bed was our first purchase for our new home & we could not be happier. The bed blends traditional & modern styling perfectly & will work with a range of sheets/linens - - solids, florals, stripes & other prints. The frame is very well made & assembly was straightforward.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Delighted With My Purchase! I was attracted to this simple, elegant bed last year and after many shopping trips, decided to try purchasing a bed without seeing it in person. I am delighted with my decision! This bed is structurally sound, extremely well made, with a beautiful linen headboard that is padded and mounted on a sturdy piece of wood. The instructions were easy to follow (2 men put it together) and I am extremely happy with the style and the quality of the bed. I have the gunmetal grey frame and I am using it with grey and taupe furnishings and bedding. I bought it during the 25% off sale but I think it is well priced based on my comparison shopping.
