An unfortunate discovery.
I bought four of these hand towels some months back. I love the feel and the plushness. I got one stained and decided to buy another one to replace it. When I got the new one, I realized how faded the color of the towels I has previously purchased were. The older towels were always washed in either cold or warm water, never hot, so I am not sure why they faded so much. It was disappointing.

Pretty Face Cloths
These were purchased for the overnight nurses aides in the household I manage. The face cloths are very attractive and the colors are vibrant. Time will tell how durable they are.

Great Looking Towels
I bought the Navy and White stripe and they’re great looking. They’re also thick and super absorbent. Only one negative: they shed copiously and lots of lint comes off in the dryer. The lint was noticeably less after the 4th or 5th wash. Even though it was annoying to clean navy lint from my white bathroom fixtures, I’d buy them again.

Luxuriously Thick
The towels are well made and thick but they leave your skin damp. Why do manufacturers put so much softener in the product? They do not absorb well. Washing with vinegar and baking soda helps to remove some of the softener.

Thick, soft, and pretty
I purchased these towels for my bathrooms at the beach. My hubby's first comment after using them was, "I love those towels!". I had also purchased some similar striped hand towels from Crate and Barrel, but these are hands down so much nicer. The only downside we've noticed is lint. Lots of lint. They've been washed 4-5 times already, and the lint is still excessive. Hoping that eases off soon! I may order more next summer if they're still available.

Great towels, border shrinks after washing
I love these towels- the colors and stripes are energetic and unique, they're soft and dense and feel luxurious. My only complaint is that after ONE wash and dry, the borders have shrunk and are puckered. I have other colors and the same thing happened.

ready for new towels
I like the colors and feel. my only issue is the tight band across the edges. i fear that in time it will shrink up and cause a gathering effect across the top and bottom. We'll see.

Edge Unraveled after FIRST wash
I purchased a set of these towels because I wanted quality towels that wouldn't fall apart. I wanted to love these. When they arrived, I immediately put them in the wash before using. When I took them out of the washer, the towel edge had come unsewn and frayed. Very disappointed. Will not purchase these again.

Not happy with back of towel
I purchased the sailor blue towels. I assumed the front and back of the towels were the same. However, they are not. The back of the towel is predominantly just dark blue and ribbed and definitely looks like a "back". Also, the towels are very ribbed. I am not sure how absorbent or soft they will be. I am returning.

Loved inititally but started to unravel
I bought this a month ago and initally loved them. Unfortunately one of the bath towels have already unraveled a bit. I hope it isnt an indication of what to expect for the other ones.

look nice, too firm
When I saw these towels in the catalog, they looked more light weight. The edging is too tight, so after washing the towel puckered! We prefer a lighter weight towel as they are more absorbent, and easier to dry off.

Not Worth The Price
These towels LOOK great ... well, one side does - the other side looks "inside-out" so if you want a clean look, you have to remember to hang them one way and one way only so that the "underside" is not the side showing. To me, that's a huge downfall of this item. Some of the other reviewers say that this towel frays and looks worn after a few washes ... that hasn't happened for me yet. I've laundered them maybe 3 times though, so the threshold seems to be after that. If that's the case, I would lower to a "one-star" because the only reason I'm at a "three-star" now is for function. The look, to me, isn't there on this product, with one side being un-presentable.

Loved them at first...
Loved the size and the terrific look. Unfortunately, they have not worn well. After a few weeks, they began to pull and pill, even though we take great care with washing. We now have strings hanging from the towels. Very disappointed in the quality.

Just ok
I have loved all of my Garnet hill purchases in the past (all types of sheets and bedding as well as the fall and holiday items). Highest quality and worth the price. Bath towels seem to be the exception for me. I bought these in sand as well as dot towels in sand and all of them have faded so badly (the sand even looks a bit "rusty") and at different rates that they no longer even match each other. I can't put the exact same towels next to each other out without having it look like I've made multiple laundry errors (which I have not). For the price point I would not recommend and will continue to recommend GH for bedding and holiday items but not for bath towels.

Not as good as they should be for this price
I've washed these 2-3 times and they're already pilling. I love the color though (cornflower blue). I also ordered a cornflower blue bath mat and the blue in that isn't the same as the blue in these.

Love the towel, hate the quality
I love these towels. They're thick, absorbent, and beautiful. Unfortunately, after only two washings on gentle cycle, they are already unraveling on the sides. I purchased three sets on sale. I feel deeply disappointed in the quality despite all the good mentioned above and would not recommend them.

I love the look of these towels but after the first wash every single one needed to have pulled threads cut. For the large towel I would estimate about 10 per towel. I will just keep giving them a haircut I guess because they do LOOK nice.

Problems with fading washcloth
I bought a set of the sailor blue towels and washcloths for my gust bathroom. After I had some company for the summer I noticed that the wire stripe on the washcloth looked dirty. I assumed it was what some odd soap or cream my company had been using and ordered a new set of washcloths.
I have moved the striped set into my bathroom to mix with a sold towel set and find that the washcloth is again looking dirty. This is the only washcloth I've had this problem with.
